Carlou D

New Album

Carlou D

"A New Day"

A member of Senegal's first hip-hop group, Positive Black Soul, Carlou D turned to a more traditional sound for his 2010 breakthrough album, Muzikr (World Village). For his new album, A New Day, available March 10, Carlou D has gathered a talented team around him, including fellow rising African stars Ester Rada and Berita, along with Eagle-Eye Cherry who appears on the single “Soldier”. A New Day takes his philosophy and talent a step forward towards international acclaim.

"Carlou D has the potential to become a major West African star...he has a powerful voice that can switch to an easy falsetto, and is an excellent guitarist and thoughtful songwriter."
- The Guardian

 MÁRCIO FARACO
Accompanied by musicians from both France and Brazil, he regales us with tales of his native Brazil, of his beloved Paris and of the ebb and flow of time. Illuminated by flashes of milonga, samba, jazz and xote, his melodies radiate more than ever with a dulcet air of sweet timelessness.
